VW Whitenoise - 5th - 7th August 2011
At this point in the season, I should have been rocking up in Logan, the aircooledfools wizard........(who was due to be finished and on the road in September 2010). He was still not ready!!
The stress of the hold up's, which have delayed the project for 1 whole year, really did hit me hard, and it was touch and go as to whether I would make it to Norfolk for this one.
For those of you who know me, you will understand well that it was a tricky journey for me to make already, having not seen Norfolk for a fair old while...... I would like to take this opportunity to say a HUGE thank you to the unstoppable Dunstable Dubbers. With their support, I rocked up on the Friday and did not regret it for a moment!
The show was set against the back drop of Fritton lake. The entire event had that typical "Norfolk" laid back feel, enhanced by the stunning views on all sides.
There were plenty of traders about, with stall upon stall of rusty old "shite". Our campsite was soon over run by various bits and bobs of mostly VW origin! The site was very well organised, with no less than 4 entertainments tents for the evenings...... YAY!
Needless to say, a fun time was had by all. Whether you were into club, live or disco music..... there was something for everyone. That matched with the faultless facilities, such as toilets and even boiling hot showers (!), this event is certainly going down as a sure thing for next season.
However...... here in Norfolk..... there was mischief afoot!
This was the first (and by no means the last) sighting of the now infamous "peg man"!
If you find yourself at a VW show, rather drunk and covered in clothes pegs..... then you have fallen prey to the "Peg man". He haunts the VW scene, attaching pegs to unsuspecting party goers and causing general amusement to all who witness his antics.
Don't say we didn't warn ya!
