DUB AID 2011 - Castle Coombe Circuit

Friday 18th March saw me packing the car for my first show of the season...........

Sadly, the car that I was to cruise to Dub Aid in turned out to be the stolen mondeo (my mechanics car) and NOT Logan the 73 wizard. Logan is apparently causing problems, yet again. SC Performance have refused to give up, but will not put him into paint until every panel, wing and nut is lining up to perfection. Apart from changing the website to "", there was very little that could be done, so I set off into the sunshine with my tent, silly wellies and the all important whiskey that would see me through the weekend ahead.....

The idea behind Dub Aid was to raise money for help the heros, and the site was full after a complete sell out on advance tickets. The atmosphere on site was fanastic, both in the public and show areas. It was clear within the first hour that everyone was welcome, whether they were aircooled, watercooled........ or erm, nasty mondeo! The entertainment kept everyone nice and toasty in the beer tent, as the first night was cripplingly cold. I am sure everyone would like to extend a HUGE thanks to all of the show marshals, who stayed up throughout the night to assist....... seriously, it went down to -6!

Saturday saw a small heatwave, just in time for the show and shine. This was certainly welcomed by me, as I had been forced to abandon my tent somewhere around 4am. I had bundled my airbed and sleeping bag into the back of the mondeo, trying really hard not to be jealous of the campervans around me, with their built in stoves and solar showers lol.

Saturdays entertainment was just as good...... my fave of the weekend being the Rocker Covers, who really got the party started.

The show ended with a staggered cruise into Royal Wootton Bassett, in memory of the many soldiers who have been lost from this area.
